Building a school in Trustee Area 4
It is currently the only Trustee Area in the school district without a public school, and families in the north end of town must travel way too far to get their kids to and from school. In the meantime, we must provide school bus service to and from school for kids living the outlying areas.
Expanding Early College and Career Technical Education Programs
Giving out students a jump on a career or higher education allows them to begin their chosen path without a mountain of debt. It also helps local employers and boosts the economy.
Ensuring Fiscal Accountability
Funds from the next school bond must be used specifically for student needs. We must also be careful to keep from spending one-time funds on permanent programs.
Developing Innovative Strategies to hire and retain qualified employees.
Like most employers, the school district is facing a huge challenge with recruitment, and we need to find new ways to meet this need.
